Our Annual Celebration of San Mateo County's Mental Wellness Community

Sunday, August 20, 2023            San Mateo Central Park

This picnic marked a year of Heart & Soul embracing new leadership full of vision, passion, and authenticity.

We enjoyed healing in community with good food, games, prizes, and activities such as Art for Wellness and tie-dye shirt making. We celebrate being intergenerational, diverse, and active individuals

living OUR TRUTHS with various mental and physical challenges!

Our purpose is present in how we treat one another, our partners, and our peers.

WE ARE HEART & SOUL EVERYDAY and thank you to everyone who makes our organization whole.

The College of San Mateo Student Nurse Service Learning Team provided Volunteer hospitality, muscle-power, and enthusiasm that guaranteed that this would be our best Picnic ever! With their valuable contributions to the success of our event, they demonstrated extraordinary levels of caring, initiative, teamwork, creativity, and exemplary commitment to community service.

Heart and Soul's Welcome Table offered resources, guest sign-in,
Door Prize Raffle tickets, and a turn of the Swag Spinning Wheel...
Everyone's a winner!

Partner Agencies lined the entranceway with resource tables, providing
information, support, and community connection.

In honor of her one-year anniversary, Ophelia Williams Mattox, Heart & Soul Executive Director, was presented with a surprise gift, a huge handmade card signed by dozens of well-wishers. Thank you for a year of visionary leadership, Ophelia!
